The Ministry of Education (MOE), Taiwan and College of Chemistry at UC Berkeley have jointly set up a Taiwan – College of Chemistry, UC Berkeley Fellowship to support outstanding Taiwan graduate students in their pursuit of Ph.D. degrees at the College of Chemistry, UC Berkeley. The joint fellowship will serve as a one-year pilot project for future development between Taiwan and the entire UC Berkeley. Starting from school year 2018, up to five fellowships may be awarded. Each fellowship will be of three years’ duration, and can be extended to four years upon request and will cover living expenses and tuition fees.
Applicants should be ROC citizens who normally live in Taiwan, Penhu, Kinmen or Matsu, although those currently studying overseas are also eligible. Students currently enrolled in doctoral programs at the UC Berkeley (or in the College of Chemistry) are not eligible. The application deadline is Dec. 1st for for Dept. of Chemistry, and Dec 15th for the Dept. of Chemical Enginering, respectively. Applicants must meet standard procedures as well as requirements in order to gain admissions to College of Chemistry at UC Berkeley. Reviews will be conducted by both the Taiwan Ministry of Education and College of Chemistry at UC Berkeley, and the list of successful applicants will be announced in the end of March, 2018.
